Today I went to the school and started getting the classroom ready. Worked at that for a few hours and then wrenched on the truck in the late afternoon.

Today I finished installing the sound deadener in the cab and then the insides of the doors. I then installed the door seal that runs along the outer door lip. I didn't enjoy working with that weatherstripping glue let me tell you. Sticky, bloody mess even when trying my darnedest to be clean and tidy. After the seal set up for a little while I decided to mount the doors and set the gap. I put on the strikers and loosely adjusted and got the doors closer and closer. I reinstalled the old inside door handles so I could open and close the doors. I set the doors where I was happy and then closed them up to help compress the seal a bit. It was very satisfying to hear the door solidly shut with no clangingI The rebuilt latches, strikers, seals and sound deadening matting have done wonders! I was a bit nervous about hanging the doors by myself but it went very smoothly. There are no windows installed so they are "light". I opened the hinges right up, got bolts and hardware ready, picked up door on the inside and then sat on the running board with the door on my knees and slid the door onto the hinge. No problems at all. It went very well today.

It looks more and more truck like every day.

Tomorrow, hopefully finish class room and then bed wood install if my wife doesn't go into labour! She was due yesterday with our first child (a boy) and I'm looking forward to getting my first "apprentice/wrench fetcher!" It's fun teaching my nieces and nephews about things; I imagine it will be even more rewarding when it's our own and not the "rentals 😉" from my siblings!
