I assembled my little blast booth to catch my excess glass and have started to strip down big pieces and parts of my 1 ton in prep for primer/bed liner (depending on the part). I have discovered that the "mill scale" on the new steel is difficult to get off with the blaster. However, the surface rust stuff comes off like dust. So, I have put out those new pieces I have built overnight, wet them down and will blast them when they get a nice flash rust on them. It really is easier to blast off. I figure that it won't matter rusting because I'm taking them to squeaky clean before I prime/liner it.
