I began to mock up how I would mount my license plate tonight. Because I built my own rear bumper bracket, which in turn moved the bumper up and in towards the bed, the bumper sits higher than stock which interferes with the stock license mount. I will create a drop bracket that will mount the plate below the bumper. I don't like how the stock bumper sits low and you can see the frame and "underparts."
This drop bracket will utilize the light for the plate so it will still be legal. I considered mounting the plate under the gate in the middle of the cross sill, but somehow it seems to "clutter" the clean look.
What do you guys think?
