It has been super hot and humid around here but I kept cuttin and choppin...I ordered a pair of Altman latches to replace the beat stock ones...neither door would stay shut...I have heard more stories about these old trucks and the door popping open...I solved that problem once and for all...

look where this thing is made....USA all the way

passenger side all installed....

I was not looking forward to doing this job as I have never ever understood how door latches are supposed to work...but...I followed along and look...

passenger side door....and look...it shut...yippee

my only complaint about it was the striker tab inside the door was about .25" to .38" too short.....so I had to had a little metal so everything would work...

you can see it installed here...

I shot another photo of what I had to do to get everything to work...

striker side here...

here is the back side...

so next is to get window channels and some other door stuff....Jim Carter to rescue again.....

So for the first time since I dragged it into the garage ....Howard Knapp has doors that shut and stay shut...

One more step closer...
