Our '49 1.5-ton was way more than that and was over 10 years. Only had the bed to go ... but by then we had two '49s, and several other trucks on the farm. Even then, we went back and forth about letting it go. This was John's first frame-off restoration. Finally, just went with the sensible thing. We could use the "hobby money" and the "time you don't really have" for keeping the '49 1-ton going, plus other toys and what not for the farm. No regrets - ended up with a cool OLD backhoe, that has been quite useful - and takes up time and money, too.

Don't feel bad whichever way you go -- just think about the pros and cons. We've had a lot of stories come in here where people get away from the "hobby" for a few years and then just have to get back into it again.
