The Stovebolt Site Forums The Side Lot Annual Stovebolt Reunion (Kansas City) 2012 Reunion (8th year): Who's coming?

We always post this to get an idea of who is coming from where. It's been helpful in the past if folks want to tag along, or convoy along, with someone who is heading to the middle of the country. Several share a room. Some plan to meet early, etc.

We'll keep the list updated as people are added.

1. John and Peggy Milliman, flying in Thursday. Arrive a little after noon. Leaving early Sunday (flight is 7 a.m.) so we'll miss all the Sunday events and say our goodbye's Saturday night. We're coming from Southern Maryland. If anyone wants to "tag along," it'll cost about $250!

2. Cletis and June are coming in from Texas. I am almost certain Cletis will drive! Here's the Feature Story from his drive in 2007 -- 1200 miles in a 51 year old truck!
3. Don (2-ton) and Vicki King are coming from Central Missouri ... I think on Thursday.
4. Ed "DaOzTinman" Hoover - Ed lives in Kansas (Weomego) and he'll be here "Fri/Sat"
5. Leo "1953 Panel" K -- Leo's coming in from Canada!
7. John and Theresa will be here Fri - Sun a.m.
8. New here. My neighbor just got a '52 6400 we are starting to resto. We will probably be there. Riverside is real close.
9. Shirley and Al "resto44" Falke and our son T.C. will be bringing our 57 and maybe 64.
10. George will be there Satureday with the '56.
11. Joe "Brewster" Miller with his "new" '47 and wife Caryn.

That's good to hear about the Lodge. Gaileen said it was nice. It needs to be nice enough, cheap enough, accommodating enough (we can bring in eats and drink and hang out outside). So, all that fits.

LaVerne and I hope to pull in Fri. night, will be on the way back out early Sun. goin down to Houston from KC. Hope to see a lot of you.

Victoria and I are planning to be there. Sorry we won't make it in time to be at the Aldersons. Ya'll eat enough for us!!

Gloria and I will be there Friday night leave Sunday morning. Looking forward to seeing everyone. We're staying at the Holiday Express next door to the American Inn. We already had it booked and they won't refund our money so looks like we'll be staying there. I didn't know you guys were going to change places. Oh well.

My 46 has made a lot of progress and I should have it back on the road this fall. Linda and I will plan to join you next year. Hopefully Charlie can lead the way and I can follow.

I should send some new pictures for the Gallery.

Want to be there real bad, want to meet some of the great people that run this site and contribute so well to it. Won't be bringing my "50 tho, I am starting a new job in Tulsa next week so the truck repairs are on hold until??? I am hoping I have that weekend off and can make the trip. Daughter goes to KU so be a good time to see her and have a place to sleep.

Having missed last year, I've decided to redeem myself by finally showing up for all of the festivities and staying at the "host" motel. It will be great finally being a real Stovebolt Reunion guy. See you Thursday afternoon through Sunday with my son and grandson showing up on Saturday via separate transport.

I found Husker's work sheet she used last year, so I'm plugging the data in there. That sheet helped a lot last year with contact info, locations, etc. so we didn't loose anybody (as we have in previous years ... oppss!)

I don't know how that happened. I had adjust the forum settings so they could be seen by people who are not registered (unlike the other Side Lot forums). Apparently, I also clicked can be answered by unregistered.

So, I did fix that. But I wonder then if anyone unregistered who posts would be anonymous. We'll have to test that ... when I get a chance.

OK.. You can add me to the list. I have reserved a room at the econolodge and sent in my pre-regiatration paperwork. If all goes well, I should be there sometime around noon, God forbid I should have trouble on the road. I'll generally be traveling on I70, so if any bolters care to act as a rescue squad along the way, give me a shout. While the old bolt should make the trip just fine, one never can tell but that a gremlim is lurking.

OK.....After having My 59 down for a Year (Father In Law was Overhauling my 235) Cletis and I took the 300 mIle round trip to go and Pick up My .... Pick Up!

After looking the BOLT over and thanking my Father-in-law shaking hands (giving the keys to Cletis so that he could drive my Brand New 2012 Dodge Challenger which is a whole other story) we started back Home!

About 45 miles down the road the Engine Temp started to go up just a bit and the oil Pressure started to go down a tad!

So we made a quick pit stop and looked things over! There was good Oil and what looked like enough water in the radiator! hummmmm?

Well after another 30 miles the Engine was HOT... Oil Pressure was LOW .... RATS (water spewing all over the place)

We were at a Exxon Station with a Security Camera and Cletis said "well we can pick it up tomorrow with my flatbed"

After a Night of restLESS sleep Cletis and I made that long trip back to see of My BOLT was even there?

Good news... The Bolt was safe and sound at the Station. Put some water in the radiator and that Beautiful Bolt Fired right up..... Cletis Drove it on the Flatbed and I thought to myself ........ Cletis is a GREAT Friend!!!

Long story ..... Longer! Cletis and I got the BOLT home after a short stop at a Beef Jerky Store for some Good Road Food ... Cletis also said that he is going to sell me a Good 261 that will fit in My BOLT if the 235 is beyond repair!

I want to Say that NEXT YEAR IF I have to Trailer my BOLT ..... I WILL BE THERE because I was READY (and needing a vacation) and reaally wanting to meet you guys up there in KC

sorry about that..... I changed the 361 to a 261!




I would like to come .....but really want my Truck to be there!

I get such a kick out of driving my Stovebolt and even if it takes me another year l will be there (will take vacation to be there)


Chances are l will be there sporting my new green 261 Engine!!
