new to Stovebolt and thought I'd give a brief intro. My name's Phil and I live in Independence, KS. - U.S.A. I recently purchased a 1950 Chevy 3100 and was doing some online research when I found the stovebolt site. I love these old chevy's and this is the 2nd classic I've owned. ( The 1st was a 1963 short bed flair side ). My 63 I went all original and so this time I'm rodding it up for a change. My 1950 3100 Deluxe has a 350 bored 40 over with a roller cam, electric start, electric "vortex" fan, and a 400 tranny with a B&M shift kit installed. I'm a fat man, so the tilt, power steering ( a must ) is from a pontiac fire bird.
I'm lucky in that if I want to be around an original 50's model, my sister in law has a 1954 3600 with 58k original miles on it. ( No, she won't sell it, lol. ) She's owned it for 19 years and it's all original, right down to the original OEM glass.
I'm looking forward to chatting with you all about our old chevy's and GMC's. I'll be taking some pics of my 3100 to post on site, as soon as I figure out how, lol.

Pics coming soon, I'll be taking some pics tomorrow after I bolt the running boards back on ( needed to paint them ). Been getting some of the cosmetic stuff done. Found a Sun Shield off a 47 Chevy Fleet Master Wendsday at the salvage yard, cleaned the oxidation off it, adjusted it to fit and painted it yesterday, mounted it on the winshield this afternoon, dresses up the truck fairly well. The truck's carrying a marroon and gun-metal-gray paint job that looks pretty nice, I may decide to take it down to bare metal and repaint after a bit, but it looks pretty good for now.

Great to have another truck from Independence, Mo. here, bro. Maybe our trucks met each other sometime, eh?
