From Lori Ann :

Hi all! I wanted to update the picture of my 1966 Chevy C-10 because she definitely looks different now.

The biggest project since I got her was the suspension upgrade and brake conversion. We got the kit from CPP (highly recommended). We changed the lug pattern from the 6-lug stock to a 5-lug. We put on the disk brakes in the front, with cross-drilled and slotted rotors. It was not so much fun scraping 40-years of grime off the a-arms at 2 am!

On the back, we kept the drums but changed out the spindles to get the 5-lug conversion. We added new power brake booster and all new lines. For the suspension, we did a 4 and a half drop in the front and 6 in the back. For the front, we used 2" springs and 2.5" spindles, and the back took 5" springs and 1" blocks. My husband also did a custom c-notch to help it out. Topped it off with 17" American Racing Torque Thrust II's.

For the interior, I found a white steering wheel off of eBay that I loved. I repainted the column white to tie it all together. I also put a Rockford Fosgate amp under the seat and a 10" Infinity Dual Voice Coil speaker in place of the old gas tank.

The list of things I still want to do is never-ending (as I am sure you can all relate). I can't decide what to do next. The interior needs to be redone (carpet, seats, door panels and dash) and I need to do something with the bed.

She is now pretty much my daily driver. I take it everywhere and I am pretty amazed at how much attention she gets. Feel free to see more pictures at my Webshots!

Thanks,

Lori Ann Spencer

Just want to add that Lori Ann has been helping with some of the "first drafts" of the Gallery submissions, which has been a big help on this end. She got us over a BIG hump in April. We have such good volunteers and she's one of them! Thanks Lori Ann! ~~ Peggy / Editor

From Lori Ann :

Hi! Here are some pics of my 1966 Chevy pickup. A few months ago, when we were living in Texas, I came across it on eBay. Turns out, this truck was five miles away from my house!

My husband and I went over and took a look at it. It was a family from Mexico that owned it and it was still registered there. I took one look and I wanted it. So my husband went through it and checked everything out. We made an offer and it was mine a few hours later.

It needs some work but it runs great. It has a 1974 350 in it and a TH-400. I really didn't get to drive it much being as when we bought it, I was a few months pregnant. Now that my youngest is here (now 9 weeks old) and we have moved to Florida, I finally have the time to put into it. I also have a little one just under 3, and he LOVES to ride in "Mommy's Uck."

We have done some little stuff like a stereo and some replacement items like the rearview mirror, etc. Just some nickel and dime things. We just ordered the disk brake conversion for it so I am waiting on that to show up.

I had a set of 5-lug Torque Thrusts from another truck that are going on it. My husband installed the "under the bed" gas tank conversion last week so driving it without the windows down (because of the fumes) is real nice now.

Little by little, it's coming along. I will post upgraded pics as I go.

I am definitely staying with the orange and white color scheme. Thanks for the site and all the info. It's nice not to sound like a moron when people ask me about my truck!

Thanks!
