I have a bad backfiring problem, it was sooooo bad it blew both ends out of my new Thrush eliminator muffler!!since my last post I change dist cap, change fuel, all wires on the right cylinder,I removed the timing chain cover by dropping the oil pan. The camshaft gear is a nylon one some wear but not enough to make it jump time. But there is enough wear I cannot for the life of me find the timing mark on the camshaft gear.everything is lined up,rotor on its mark for #1 cylinder ,marks line up on flywheel.I looked with a magnifing glass to find the mark!!Is there an alternate way of getting the camshaft gear off without disassembling the drive train and removing the grill to get the camshaft out??? :mad: :confused: :confused: :mad:
