Any bets on the ballast resistor? Ever tried to run one of these motors without one? Can you spell S P L I T M U F F L E R ??? I was out one night and my truck stopped running, after about five minutes futzing under the hood I figured out the ballast resistor had opened up. No problem, jumpered it out, started it up and tried to drive it away . . . about two minutes, 50 feet traveled and one split muffler later I shut it down, pulled the ballast resistor off the firewall, found where the filiment was broken and unwrapped the wires and twisted them back together . . . re-installed, started it up and beat cheeks for home. Always carry a spare in the glove box!
