This is the list of thingy I tried Before I took the timing gear cover off.
1 changed fuel
2 changed dist cap
3 aligned #1 cylinder by thumb over #1 cyl
4 made sure flywheel was aligned at this point
5 dist gear will be right or 180 degrees out only way it will seat
6 made sure wiring was correct
7 made sure #1 cyl at top dead center aligned with marks
8 removed valve cover to ensure #1 cyl valves were open at to dead center.
All of these things were correct and still it backfires is why I took the timing chain cover off.None of this was done in 10 mins.been messing with the timing externally for 2 complete days.
I didnt consider the electrically aspect side. I am running a 6 volt starter 12 volt solnoid, 12 volt coil, and 12 volt battery no ballast in the system.
