Yea, $2,000 os way too much money for a truck in Colorado.. even if you could hop in and drive it home the 1.5 miles.
I'm in Nebraska, and the 1.5 40's trucks sell for about $500 to $1000 in drive it home condition, but needing things like new tires, paint, you know, small stuff.
I've seen some really nice looking garage/barn kept 1.5 ton '41 thru '46 trucks sell on eBay from the Colorado area that were in drive 1,000 miles home kind of condition sell for less than $1500.
Heck, I just sold a '47 International KB6 that was fully restored, and I mean frame off fully restored, that I wouldn't be afraid to drive cross country (aside from the whole comfort thing) and it didn't bring but $3500 or so.
The 1.5 ton trucks just aren't in demand.. it's the 1/2 tons that bring the money.
But from the way you described it.. you might be hard pressed to get $2000 for it even if it were a 1/2 ton.
