You had a post a while back about changing your knee action shocks with "modern" shock absorbers. Did you ever do that upgrade? If the shock absorber "bottoms out", it would make a noise similar to what you are describing. Just for giggles, exactly when did you notice this noise? Maybe if you back-tracked in time, a clue might show itself. Keep us informed!
