Nothing sounds silly at this point. The battery is secure as is the box. I had at one time removed the cross member behind the trans to get the trans out easier. It too is secure.
Skippy (BTW I sent you an email sometime back about Plattsburg)I don't think that would work. The noise occurs only on a hard bump and not always. For the most part the truck runs really smoothly but it is on those hard bumps that it thumps real loud.
