Otto, I may just do that...still pondering it.
One of my various careers was working in an accident investigation/safety engineering company, and memories of what I saw there make me think how foolish I would feel if trying to save a little effort and a few $$ caused me to have less braking power than I needed at a critical moment.
Hoping someone with first hand experience might speak up...
