Have you considered running that engine on a fuel other than gasoline? Higher compression figures work well with alcohol, plus various "oxidizer" additives such as Nitromethane or Hydrogen Peroxide. Just hang a trailer on the back to haul the fuel tank around. Dad's 300 cubic inch flathead V8 in his 34 Ford 3 window coupe dirt tracker running on an alcohol/peroxide mix got 8 laps per gallon on a 1/4 mile oval. Jerry
