I think I determined this block was built for an OEM GM head. Rough calculation had the static compression at well over 12:1. The lift on the exhaust valve is .610", intake .570". Running the stock GM head numbers brought the compression down to the 8's. And I think I'm safe in assuming the GM rockers aren't 1:1.75. So, after I open it up check to see what the rod length is, I think a new set of pistons and either a new cam or a regrind will be in order if I want to use the big shiny aluminum head. I do have the old cam and old rods with some Jahn's pistons attached, in case it can be reground and I need more OEM style rods. Won't know until I open it up and see what I got in there. Rabbit hole, here i come!
