Right now I'm trying for the less expense of energy route of sticking with the rods that are in there with the .990" pins and just do a piston change out. I've learned elsewhere that CP Carillo (who bought out Arias) and Ross Racing Pistons still make pistons for the Bonneville guys using GMC's. There's plenty around if you know who/where to ask. I learned that when we were restoring the vintage fuel motor. You ask around and you eventually run in to the guy that has a garage full of hemi's, 6-71 blowers, the #3 Donavan block, and..... You just don't find them on the internet. (RIP Jake!) Fortunately, one of them is my friend. Who just spent yesterday trying to break a record at El Mirage in George Callaway's roadster. 149 mph for the first pass. He needed 152+ for the second pass but wasn't successful.

So Monday, if I can find time, I'll get a call in to one or both of them and see what they can do for me and what little designs they have filed away in their computers. This block was built was within the last 5-7 years, so these pistons weren't made that long ago. They're just wrong for my application.
