Hmmmmm- - - - - -another option would be the 292 Chevy six connecting rod and a small block V8 piston. That would give a bunch of options for adjusting the piston compression height and the position of the piston in the cylinder, without having to go to exotic (e$$$pensive) custom pistons or rods. The 292 runs a 2.100" rod journal, the same .927" wrist pin as the V8, and a rod length of 6.760". That's almost 1/4" shorter rod length, and there would be several choices of piston pin to crown distance. Small block V8 hotrod parts are plentiful and inexpensive, and they're made to handle lots of horsepower. The existing pistons could have the wrist pin holes bushed down to fit the 292 rods, which have press fitted pins, if the shotrer rods could create enough valve clearance.
