moparguy Saw your comment on only .0001 th on a rod bearing,I guess the old hammer method might have given about that same thing. Thousands of them done that way. On modern stuff I put in four slip in a .002 feeler (on like a sbc) if good put in the other four. If suspect use the piece of a feeler gauge method. Don't think I ever bought any plastigage just saw others use it. My 235 has all --.002 under bearings thruout is best oil pressure ever .
