Skooter I've had that oil drip mess many times,would try to let it set at least overnite. My teacher on rod bearings used the 8 oz. hammer method,then he would say oh if you get 10 or 12 pound of oil pressure your doin good,then he would just laugh !! I always used a piece of feeler gauge to check clearance,then just see if it will move in other words not locked up.
