fixite7, hadn’t considered using a jack. My plan is torque the other main caps to 110, then trim the top seal.
The front of #1 main cap stuck to the lower portion of the timing gear housing gasket. When I pulled the cap a substantial portion of the gasket came off in a ragged non salvageable fashion.
Question, does that part of the gasket serve any real purpose? It’s sealed by the oil pan.
