Deve, a simple dial indicator on the throttle lever will tell you where you are at.
What you need is a great big old box fan, flat leather belt, and drive pulley on the back of the crank. You would have your load, and be cool at the same time.
It would be just like the tractors use at the steam shows, just a good way to work the engine.
