Not everyone.
I have had a few bad condensers, but the only "bad" points I have seen are the sets that come with two "springs" (one is a lead and the other is for tension/spring, I guess?). Some people do not use the tension spring (and, I guess, the other thinner "spring"/lead fails, eventually). Of course, points have to be cleaned/adjusted somewhat regularly, and they wear out.
My experience only includes 6v and 12v 216, 235, and 261 engines (I have also used 6v and 12v Pertronix systems with no failures).
Of course, I have no problem/criticism with do-dads being used on anyone's engine/truck.
