Got a semi-related question on the top-end oiling. After life kept me away for several weeks, I am hoping to get back to the truck this weekend. Also reviving an old 235 and top end oiling verification was one step I missed on my previous startups.

Is there anything wrong with using the starter to spin the oil pump? Perhaps with plugs pulled and cylinder walls lubed to help things spin more freely?

I'm aware of the pulling distributor/using drill to spin the pump procedure. But rigging it all up and putting it all back together correctly is something I'd like to avoid if possible.
