Not sure just how to take that swing Stu, but I did just reset my voltage regulator and you may be right about the output. One thing that supprised me was that at speed before I was reading in the mid 8v range on my DVM and by backing off the voltage points only 1/4 turn it came down to 7.4v at speed. Pretty touchy old piece of equipment.
I kind of hoped some of the guys that are running the 8v batteries would chime in, I know there were quite a few that said they were using them.
Gotta go, UPS just brought my HogRing pliers so now I can get started on my upholstery.
