Not sure Stu, but I don't think so, if you were pumpin’ close to 8v out I think it would work ok. I'll have to stop by and pose that question to them, they have been around for a long time so they must know a little some thing about the subject. From what the guy was telling me, it's done all the time and I've heard of a lot of guys here that are running 8v bats.
If worst comes to worst I suppose one could break down and slip a high wattage dropping resister under the dash to get rid of a couple of volts, they're cheap.
