Not sure but I dropped one off for a '50 216 this morning and explained that if it had two coil that he may be able to put four in it. Said it would only cost about 50 dollars and he would check out the armature, turn it and put new brushes in for that price.
Now, like most auto repair shops now days, he will probably find all kinds of other things wrong that will drive the cost up to a couple hundred bucks before I can get it out of hock.
He did try to talk me into putting an 8v battery in, said that a lot of the farmers do that for their equipment, and all I would have to do is adjust the regulator.
