Many were changed to 12v; many weren't.
My last three 6v trucks (purchased over the past 10 years) were not converted. This does not prove anything about many or most 6v trucks, except that the three owners kept them in running condition (all three trucks benefited from a change to correct 6v battery cables, however).
It's nice to hear people's opinions (preferably, when they are asked for) but why not just congratulate ResoJoe for a successful diagnosis and repair, instead of trying for a "religious conversion"?
