Plunkin,
take a pc of at least 12 gauage wire and jump from the positive terminal on your battery to the Field side of your generator to polarize it .
It will just take a second ..dont hold it on there ..you will see a spark an it is done ..ya dont need to polarize the regulator.Hope this helps .
