Changed coil to the one you said, points, and condesor....wooowhooo. She's alive...took it for a half hour run..all okay. You're great...thanks for your help.
Back to the charging problem....
Now that it runs...I did what you mentioned some time back. I put the field wire on the generator to ground and then checked for voltage from the gen wire to ground. I got 12 volts at idle and more as I increased the RPM. Sounds to me that the generator is working.
I guess at this point, It's the voltage regulator that is the problem ?
Any suggestions for a replacement ?
It's to bad your so far away...I would sure like to share a cold beverage with you....
