OK, I'll try some of this tonight or this weekend... I will start by pulling the field wire off the voltage regulator and touching it agains the cab - this should ground it, correct? And, I'll need someone to watch the ammeter at the same time? If it doesn't peg at C, then what?
The battery is old but I'm not sure how old. I took it out of my jeep a few years ago... but seems to be holding up well. I will check it and all the other connections as well, just to be sure.
