It looks to be in much better shape than the one I started with! The springs seem to be sitting pretty. Wouldn't it be amazing to hear it roar to life?

I've never seen a logo plate like that one. I wonder what year they changed to the more common logo plate. | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 677 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 677 | Some people are like Slinkies, Their not really good for nothing... I noticed the crank pulley still has a place on it for crank starting. You can see through the oil on the dipstick, and it still reads full.(I doubt any was added in quite a while) I can't believe the 30++ year old tires are even holding air. | | | | Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 5,470 Bond Villain | Bond Villain Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 5,470 | Good find, David! I can only assume, dual rear wheels or not, that just having "3800" on your hood sides does the same for you. Okay, tell ya what -- Get 5 3800 owners (have to have their truck in the Gallery to count ) to chime in here asking for a 3800 forum and we'll try in on the Grassy Knoll (like the Firetruck Forum and the daily drivers -- both of which may get archived soon ... If it catches on, we'll promote it to the Parking Lot. Deal? Would that be for ALL 1-tonners, or just the AD trucks? I'm guessing that just AD trucks would be too restrictive. Comments? John

It's in a barn near Pflugerville where it has been since the mid '70's. http://photobucket.com/huthip3800Huthip | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 829 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 829 | I think we should include the 3/4 tons since a lot of parts and accessories are the same as the one ton's. Did you find it over in Bastrop? I actually found it one county over in Lee County, near Giddings. I had no way of getting it home, so he delivered it for me. Huthip - nice looking 3800. I hope you get it. | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 131 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 131 | Okay, tell ya what -- Get 5 3800 owners (have to have their truck in the Gallery to count ) to chime in here asking for a 3800 forum and we'll try in on the Grassy Knoll Guess I better get my 52 into that gallery for my vote to count And open it to all 1 tons 1952 Chevy 3804My 1952 in the Gallery The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 1,388 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 1,388 | I better take some pics for the gallery as well. That is a great truck. The smash hit guard is cool looking as well.
