guys, i finally got around to snapping some pics of my new front bumper from LMC.

it really cleaned up the front of the truck.

i recieved my new clear front turn signal lenses, and hope to install them later this week.
should i use amber colored bulbs, or leave the clear bulbs with the clear lens ?

one day i hope to get a chrome grill, but at 600 bucks, that will have to wait.

Yes the bumper looks nice but those awful looking amber lenses distract from it. Glad you're planning to replace them.

At a car show I entered last weekend a beautiful '56 took best of show/truck. It was restored to almost stock condition but had those ugly amber lenses. I voted for it anyway but, man, those lenses stick out like a sore thumb.

As far as amber bulbs go, I guess that is a personal preference. I prefer the white myself.

Kidding apart,it looks great! It's been good fun watching your truck 'evolve'
I'm not sure how the law works in your part of the world re;the turn signals but I would go for clear lenses and amber bulbs.
That's just my opinion,so you go with what you want....It's your truck after all!

the fit of the bumper is perfect. but, the previous owner had the inboard frame mounts swapped, and that made them upside down, so when i first tightened the bumper up it creased near the bolt area and actually peeled a little bit of the chrome. once i flipped the brackets form side to side, it fits the contour perfect. i would reccommnd the LMC bumper. just hope it dont rust anytime soon.


also, i will install the clear lenses with amber bulbs and see what it looks like. i dont think too much of the amber bulb will show through, but if so i will go with a clear bulb. but like a few of you said, i may want to check with the local laws on that.

Hey Cletis,everyone to their own opinion.I think the amber lenses look great. I have them on my 55 and wouldnt have it any other way.No matter what GM did back then,it can be improved on.Why do you suppose they converted to amber parking lights and turn signals? Could it be a safety factor?

Ya see, that's a lot-O-tin showin up front and those amber lens sure do a nice job of breaking it up. I'd leave them to help ad a little contrast to the front of the truck.

You have one very fine looking truck. It really has that "clean" look that makes you want to just keep looking at it. No opinion on the amber lights - I have clear, but its personal preference, I got it that way so haven't even thought about changing. Congrats! Really nice.

well, i put the cover on my truck today before i got to install the clear lenses and take pics. but i did lift the front of the cover enough to install the clear lenses, but will have to wait until this weekend, if it aint raining, to take pics and see which ones i really like the most.

kind of got use to the amber lenses.

when i do take pics, i will post..

Love the new bumper, but I would go with the clear lenses and bulbs. For an idea of what it looks like check out my cardomain site.

i still have not had my truck cover off yet to take pics, but just by the look of the front with the clear lenses i am pretty sure i will keep them on. still not sure if i will go with clear or amber bulbs inside.

man, i love the wood in your bed.... theat is gonna be one of my next projects, once this rainy season gets over with here in south florida.

Like the others have said, your truck is beautiful! Here's yet one more opinion but not on the lenses, That's an "each to his own thing." I really like what you did with the grill! It's subtle but very nice. The whole package is waaaaay cool!

the grill is the way i bought it, and yep, the 2 tone color looks pretty good. i am "thinking" about chroming it one day, but not sure.
