Can you believe it? Most of you know the history behind this truck. The idea was conceived here on Stovebolt. Check out the doors for those who haven't seen it yet.

I just came back from the bodyshop this morning. The truck was painted over the weekend. The pictures are pre colorsand and buff. They just need to paint the box and their done. 2 years in 3 bodyshops!!!!! Seemed like yesterday (3-25-06)We were taking about STRETCHING this truck. Check it out.

If you can tell I need to lower the front end a bit. Let me know what you think.

Lookin good! How much did you add to the door? Is this on a long wheel base frame?

You have a very early 1948 (late 47) Did you know that the gauge housing is a little different than the later trucks? The bolt mounting is a different configuration and the after-market set may not bolt in exactly.

We added 8" to the door and used a standar long box frame with longbox running boards. If you search under all my posts you will see the discusion we had on Stovebolt about the length. It's kinda cool from then to now.

I believe my gauges will need rings to make the gauges fit? Does anybody have some input for me?

Tom,
Great colors. Where did you get your chrome done? Or did you just buy new chrome?
Thanks!

Thats amazing progress!

I seem to recall when you started this, and WOW! You really do a double take looking at it. The colors great. I want to do my COE a touch lighter with black fenders and steps.

Nice work!

That is a really great body makeover.Sure shows a lot skill from that body shop.Imagine how many times measurements were checked before cutting and adjusted when aligning it all together. Very impressive.

Hey Truck

Thanks Can't wait til we get it done. The nice thing is the bodyman is going to assemble the truck with my direction.

As far as the Papa Murpy's we just bought 2 more stores. That make 3 stores now. Love the biz. Just returned from Chicago this week for a Papa Murhy's Convention. Way cool!

Take care hope to have more pictures soon.

Although I am no fan of extended cabs,it looks like you are doing one heckofa nice job on it.A guy up here in my neck of the woods extended one about 12 inches, but he did it behind the doors. And his truck is done up first class all the way. It has beat my 55 out at a couple of shows.Your truck is gonna have a lot of guys scratching their heads at the shows and cruisins trying to figure it out.Anyway thats nice work.
