Hey, sounds like a really great find, and one with a personal connection.
Just a thought, If you are trying to run the truck with the 40 year old gas in the tank, it probably won't ever start, even with you pouring new gas down the throat. That fuel pump might still be working.
Be curious to know if you have any fuel in the bowl.
