HMMMMMM- - - - - -one small detail- - - -with the BB aligned with the pointer, there is still a lot of leeway possible in the ignition timing. Align the BB with the pointer, then loosen the clamp screw that holds the vacuum advance to the distributor housing. Turn the distributor housing clockwise until the points are closed, then back it up CCW until they are just barely open. One good way to set the timing very accurately is with a test light. Attach the light wire to the (-) terminal of the coil and touch the pointer to a good ground like the engine block or cylinder head. With the ignition switch turned on and the points closed, the light will not burn. As soon as the points open as you're turning the distributor housing CCW, the light will come on. Lock the clamp down in that position and the engine should start.
