David, you need to look at a wire diagram to figure out where the power is going when you back feed the system with a screw driver. If you are getting 12 volts at the coil, why does extra make it start? This is very interesting problem, at least from this side anyway :p . From your view its just a pain.. Keep us posted, Joe
