This is my 63 Chevy C-30 dually stake bed that I just bought. I bought if from an 85-year old lady whose husband passed away 10 years ago. This was his truck. She has kept it up with licensing, battery, insurance, etc, even driving it occasionally to keep it running. Finally she decided it is time to sell it. I happened to see it just as the ad was posted on Craig’s List. I only had saved half the money I needed and was really only window shopping at this point but my wife, whom loves me dearly, god bless her, helped me come up with the other half.
This is really a neat old truck and in very good condition. Originally a 6 cylinder it now has a 350 with a 4 speed. The bumper, grill and wheels are powder coated white. It has been converted to power brakes. The paint, tires, engine, interior and wood on the bed are all in great shape!
June, whom I bought the truck from, gave me a trophy that her husband won when he showed the truck in 1997 at Kool April Nights in Redding, CA. She was only asking $2000 for this amazing truck although she did know that it was worth more. I felt so incredibly lucky to get this truck. She was happy to see it going to a good home. Her kids (grown) took pictures of me and her and the truck before I drove away. It was kind of sad for them to see it go and made me think that with luck I will pass it on to my kids and hope they will want to keep it.
