Yeah, one more thought before we wrap up...

Wookie, for welding , the mig is hands down over oxy acetylene. However comma I couldn't make do without my oxy acetylene torch aka the Gas Wrench. On both my truck projects and the tractors, I've used the daylights out of the thing in heating rusted bolts, etc to get them off. For a serious restoration project, the oxy-acetylene set up has a very important role -- just not welding. And when you want to impress by standers -- CUTTING!!! Waa HOO!!! Just don't do that near fual containers.... !

Just my thought.... There may be others in there...
