The most technical weld I ever saw was done to the missile tube on the sub I was on. The post weld inspection (QA/SubSAFE) took longer than the weld.

The most technical welding I've never see was in the actual reactor compartment. Not on the vessel itself, but on the high pressure steam loop. Admirals come and what that get done.

My friend is a certified welder. The tests are a joke. Do a specific weld in a specific way. Not very 'real world' at all.

MiG is easy(er)... but you can still screw it up.
