Back on topic.
There is another possible issue with simply connecting the exciter wire to the ACC terminal. If you switch to ACC to listen to the radio or charge your phone, you will also be exciting the alternator. This may run down the battery faster than expected. I hope to finish the install today - I will see what happens.
