On topic Commentary:
The point is that we have had many posts over many years. People having troubles with 6V generator/VR charging systems. Over and over and over. We go thru a 6 page troubleshooting marathon including an explanation of electricity and the aurora borealis. Then a search for the "correct" suitable part and spending lots of money. Trying to figure it out, send to a "shop" to get gouged or buying an alternator that looks like a generator and etc.
Very few post with 12V 10si type alternator issues. Because they are a very reliable, solid state, hi performance, easy to troubleshoot, cheap and easy to find. Available in any FLAPS/online/donor. Replace in 10 minutes.
