As it turns out, the cobbled up Jeep carburetor that started all of this had an 837 metering rod so I swapped it out.

I'll post some pictures of the finished carb later on.

On an unrelated note, I keep forgetting to send you an email about the condensers. I'll do so today. Suffice to say that the car I thought would be a problem wasn't and the car I thought would be just fine - and for which I got them in the first place turned out to be the problem.
