Is there a way to repair or replace the copper line from the temperature sensing unit to the gauge?
I have a couple of the gauges from my collection of 41-46 parts with the copper line cut off. I was just wondering if there was a fix.

The tube has a bulb on the end filled with ether (I believe) and some of the vendors offer repair services for the gauges and can also change the length of the capillary tube if needed.
Who does it? A search on this site could probably find the names of repair shops.

Heck, you can probably buy a repop for that! | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 888 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 888 | Google "capillary temperature gauge repair" Many options.

I hope no one takes you seriously. That was a joke. I will go back to my serious mode. My "real idea" is to buy an aftermarket unit. | | |
