Well almost finished my truck when a few cars in the neighborhood got targeted. Well my 52 chevy 3100 had a flare dropped in the back window. well you know the rest. Now I have to start all over again. All new wiring interior glass etc. NO INSURANCE yet just finished dropping in the 350. What could poss make someone do this.

That is a real shame, I am sorry to read that.

My truck is a rusty old pile, but I'd be livid if someone did that to my ol' truck.

I doubt it was done by people who grew up with afterschool jobs, who bought their own bikes and cars. Darn shame, it seems some people have no respect for others property. Good luck on your project.

Why,I ask that question to myself almost every day.Untill we make people pay for there own actions and not blame others its never going to get better.

Seriously, that is awful. Kids? Have they caught them yet? If so, perhaps you can seek damages in a small claims court?

As for the insurance, you should always have insurance. You can get collectors car insurance for an agreed amount, full coverage and zero deductible. It's very reasonable. I pay less the $100 per year for an agreed value of $10K. You can start lower and change it as you think the value increases.

If the truck was on your property homeowners insurance might cover it.
I have an uninsured truck in my short driveway right now and it makes me a bit uneasy just sitting like that for the past couple weeks. Homeowners will cover mine so long as it hasn't been sitting unused (aka abandoned) for a long period.

Sorry your vehicle got torched. It's sad that people have the nerve to destroy someone else's property. Hopefully, they catch the creeps that did it. Good luck with your truck and catching the people that did it.

E.C.Ratrods, I get a sickening feeling in my stomach when something like this happens. Hopefully they can catch the culprit and some decent judge will make them pay restitution.

That said please don't give up. Its a big set back but don't let "them" rob you of your dream. You will come back and be stronger.

I see you are form boiling springs we will have to meet up sometime. I am not looking for hand outs from anyone I would just love to get her back on the road. I will have to order a new wiring kit gagues windows rubber interior etc.
WORD OF ADVISE GET INSURANCE even if its classic car and you not done with your ride. TALK ABOUT AN EYE OPENER.

Wow what a bunch of stand up guys. I figured I would post some pic when I get a min to add a pic to my post. I was out there trying to clean up all the ash pull the hood and remove wiring melted glass etc. Very discouraging to ssay the least. I dont get much time to work on it but I will get it done again.

I have agreed value insurance on my incomplete truck for a year or two now. It lives in a locked garage and I've been second guessing if it's worth the money I spend each year, which isn't much really.
Sounds like it's an excellent idea to have/keep insurance on our unfinished rides.

In moving forward you may be better off to find a decent looking truck and swap your surviving mechanical components over to it.

Well in most cases I would agree with you..your right but I have too much work invested camaro font clip nova rear. Body had been smooth out bed is still good cab is not too bad a little hammer and dolly work as well as the front fenders. Now there is nothing left inside the cab. Unfortuneatly had a/c and all. I have not tore into the motor yet (350) to see damage radiator was aluminum key word was. Ok I have to stop talking about it making me sick.

Looks really bad and I feel for you. We cannot blame the people from the wrong side of the tracks always. I live in a neighbourhood on the better side of the tracks you could say and Saturday morning the next door neighbour had signs planted on his lawn, another had a basketball hoop and stand pulled down and left in the middle of the road and the police chief who lives directly in front of me and owns a brand new BMW had his wipers ripped off. Not the first time. These are the rich kids with nothing better to do.
As far as insurance and agreed coverage is concerned, look at it real closely. Up here agreed coverage is for a total loss and not partial damage.

Well I put a parts wanted list up in the wanted section. As most of you have seen by my pics I need everthing so we will see what is out there. Thanks to such a wounderfull group. I cant wait to meet some of you at the shows.

I'll bring the tar- - - -somebody grab the feathers! Suspicions ought to be good enough! Not really, but seeing that disaster makes a little vigilante justice look like a really good option. Maybe drag the perp through a blackberry thicket and dump him into a vat of rubbing alcohol!

Look for the guy with the burnt shoes, they usually drop ash from the flare.

What a bummer. Years ago when I lived in the city someone messed with one of my cars. I installed a motion detector burglar alarm that had a pager.
The first time it went off there was a cat sitting on the car when I came out of the house.
The second time it went off the paper boy had hit it with the morning paper.
The third time it went off as I came out the front gate with my 12ga a car across the street took off burning rubber.
Nobody ever messed with my car again.

I teared up seeing the pictures, so sorry.

Dam! Those pictures were the first thing I looked at this morning. It was like someone kicked me in the stomach.

It's very heart-warming (right after Thanksgiving, too) to see you all come to his rescue with some spare parts.

As for the other discussions in here that happened after Nov 23 ... well, let's just say, hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving.

Ok here is where I am at. I was able to get a tilt column out of a local pull a part with key for 44.00 slight modifacation and test fit it works. Wow cant beat that.I have to shrink down my before pic to get them to load. Ther coming
