If your thinking of WestCoast mirrors with 16.5x7 heads then those can be purchased thru many automtive(truck)lighting delaers or from Velvac in Milwaukee. You can find their website.

Sawdust46,

Good to see another Deco era bolter in NC, welcome.

I searched the Chevy aftermarket suppliers for mirror arms as well and came up with nothing. It appears that the vendors only focus on 1/2-3/4 ton trucks. The arms are not the same.

My sugestion is to look into military vendors or other makes such as:

http://www.vintagepowerwagons.com/pdf/parts/18body.pdf

Okay folks, please don't attack me for suggesting to put Dodge parts on a Chevy.

I think that most remanufactored mirror arms are based on the King-bee originals and they were fairly standard issue for most truck makes. Do your mirrors mount on the upper door hinge?

I hope this helps in your search.

Paul

How long an arm do you want?

Does it have to be an original part?

I will be using telescoping stainless steel arms such as ones you can find on eBay by searching: stainless steel bracket mirror

I have been looking for the optional style that Chevy used on the 1-1/2 Ton trucks, at least through the '40's, that had two arms mounted to the top portion of the door and the mirror hung down under the arms. This is the style my 1940 1-1/2 Ton had from the factory when my grandfather bought it new. They did not like them as they bounced around too much and were removed, leaving two 1" diameter or so holes in the top of the driver's door. Would like to put it back original if I could locate the arms.

alkay3,

I think that was option number 210 (used through 1946 truck models).

If someone can find a part number, you could place a want at in the swap meet and/or look on eBay.

I still have a large set that mounts above & below the window, with cross brace, these came off my 1939 1.1/2 ton COE tow truck. I would need to go measure but they are long. It's been a while, but there must be 5 or 6 pieces to each side? I won't be using these on my project.

speed, My brackets are not the original ones for my 39. COE. My driver door also have two holes above the window. These are like ones from a Simi truck. Holes were drilled in my doors to mount them.
PM me if you think you are interested in them?

Oldschool, I sent you a PM. Do you still have the mirror brackets? Are they the ones that were mounted on your truck above the window in the two round holes? That is what I am looking for. Please let me know. Thanks, Al.
