lol... i didnt paint it for a bunch of dudes to come up and talk to me!!!

I dig cool patinas, and can appreciate restored/ period correct cars, but im the one who has to jump in my truck every day, id be bored with a cream, or red, or whatever.

Nice shiny paint jobs are cool, but i drive my truck daily, and cant see putting alot of money into a paint job and then worrying about scratching it. if i had a thousand bucks laying around id buy another truck rather then have mine painted.

It's a chick truck now. Pink? Get yourself a couple stickers supporting breast cancer. Then it would make sense. Otherwise, what's your point? Or better yet- I don't wanna know!!!!

But, I'd give it first prize for being unique and bold.

What are the two colors you used? Some people think it's pink and black. I think the glare makes it hard to tell.

The third pic actually brings it into perspective. I've seen hot rods with the 'white and black' checkered flag paint schemes. Red and black ain't bad. Pink, meh.

Not my personal tastes, but it's your truck. Have fun with it.

Get some magnetic checkers and put them on the firewall. I have seen some wild firewalls on some of the 32 hot rods at the local shows.

Oh the 53 coronet I had before the suburban was black and pink for almost three years, and not a single soul had anything negative to say to my face about it..

IF FACT!!!..I had to change the color when some cat with a 53 or 54 plymouth ( basically the same body as my dodge coronet) did the same pink top on flat black. I initially found this out when a cat I ran into said that saw my car at a show I didnt go to, swore up and down he saw me there.then I ran in to him at a show and put 2+2 together

In the fifties pink was a popular color. It was often called salmon pink or coral pink, but pink just the same. Not sure about GM, but definitely appeared on Chrysler and Ford products. I can dig it.

There was a lead sled guy in my neighborhood that had a few cars and one of them was some sort of chromey 50s car that was two tone, black and pink. It looked definitely cool.

1955 Chevrolet cars had a Coral color. Canyon Coral in 1957, and Cay & Cameo & Dark Coral (metallics) were available in 1959, and Tahiti Coral (metallic) in 1961.

My folks used to have a 1960 Rambler that was pink. In fact, that was the car I took my driver's test in. I drove it to school for almost a year till it spun a bearing.

I think the checkerboard firewall is unique. I'm curious as to how long it took to paint it.

Is that the rambler that had a fold down front seat?

GM had the 50 Deluxe in a "coral" and white and also a couple other years/models.

It did. We used to joke a lot about that, but I was a good boy and never did anything improper in it!

at Rich'stoys, I cleaned primer and painted the engine and fire wall pink one day, painted the manifolds, water outlets,radiator,oil filter steering shaft and air cleaner, another, and then cut about 100 square of duct tape . pulled every thing off the fire wall and laid out the squares. painted it black a few coats, and peel off. that night was prob 3/4 hours.

all together it only took about 5 or six hours over a few days

What a waiste of good black paint :-(
