For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! What about the mechanicals? The original equipment won't work very well if at all. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 1,388 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 1,388 | Couldn't you just swap doors with an earlier truck? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 | The mechanism is completely different you would need to swap doors or: Get 1947-50 glass/regulators Inside/Outside window trim pieces 1947-50 weatherstrip pieces

Anyway, yes there are vendors who offer one piece window kits. Classic Truck Glass, Ecklers, www.onepieceproducts, and here is an interesting discussion http://forums.classictrucks.com/70/...53-chevy-pu-window-conversion/index.html

Right is right, even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it. - William Penn | | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 137 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 137 | Sorry forgot to explain truck. Thanks for the replies. Truck is a 52 3100. Truck is out of paint and now is running (not drivable yet)The wing vents are toast since I had to have the body media blasted. New wing vent assemblies are available for LMC for $290 each, !!OUCH!! | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Take your old vent assemblies out and get them powdercoated and use glass of your choice.(clear or tinted) Sure saved me a lot of money and I had to pull them out anyway. | | |
