Installed the headlights, still need the beauty rings and junction boxes. Tonight continued frustration with the electric wipers, still looking for defroster stand-off clips.

The ‘53’s front fenders, both inners and outers are painted and assembled. The passenger side is resting in place, waiting to be bolted up tonight.

Working on the radio in the ’66 and adding door speakers. Also removed a rusty spot and added a glass patch to the bottom of the door.

Got the driver's side window in. Now I need to find some shorter bolts to hold the window regulator. The 1.25" are too long and won't let the window go all the way down.
While attempting the passenger's window I managed to crank it down pushing the run channel down enough to break off the clip on the bottom of the metal channel. I guess I'll have to put a screw in the run channel to hold it down there.

Run some tests on the 235 tonight and it looks like #2 cylinder had a bad wrist in,rod bearing or cracked piston. It has what sounds like a loose rocker arm with no load on the motor, dont know how long its been like that but I think a couple years so if I want to go to Flint in july it will be getting another motor.

Rebuilt my Rochester BC carb (with auto choke, fancy!) sitting on the shelf. The old Carter YF has an air leak around the throttle shaft and would not idle right. Once the BC was rebuilt and installed, the old girl sounded like a dang sewing machine. HUGE improvement.

p.s. - anybody want to put a bushing in the YF?

If your working on an AD truck it helps to remove the radio grille... .may take a little longer but beats standing on your head taking it out or putting it back in!!

Ryan,
Add a signature to your posts telling us what your Bolt is. That way you get better information if you have a question. A few pictures, if you're proud of her, would help as well.

Good work there on the bed Todd. I will be doing the same thing soon. I've been worried that the hole will need to be cut through one of the metal bed-strips. I did some measurements and looks like the hole will be through one of the boards.

Finally got it in and working. You will have to tweak it to make it fit. It comes with a bracket to bolt to whatever you like. No directions to speak of. I bolted it to the cowl vent brace. Good luck, you'll need it.
Right now I'm busy trying to figure out the air conditioner. It requires using one of the old heater stud holes in the firewall. Unfortunately I filled in all my firewall holes. If you need some pics of my wiper motor placement PM me and I'll send you some.

Got my power steering hoses fitted,I had to wrestle them in,there's not a lot of room!

The return was fairly easy but the pressure side was a real PITA!
It doesn't bend too easy!
Still,I got them in,nothing rubs so I should be good to go!
Off to the flaps for a drive belt and some fluid today.
Yet another step closer.......

Looks great Todd, BTW does the truck still sound as good with the modified exhausts as I did in your YouTube vid?

Installed the lifters, pushrods and rocker assembly on the 261... Then cleaned-up, painted and installed the manifolds. I need to order new gas lines and clean the tank.
I'm so looking forward to installing this puppy in the truck!

Been trying to install the air conditioner the past three days.
Put insulation in the pass side vent hole and bolted the plate on.
I've been trying to find the hole in the firewall that I sealed up and where the heated bolted on. One of our good Bolters here volunteered to make a template of his and send to me. I may have hair left when this is done.

Didn't have much time yesterday but I managed to swap out the water pump and
install the fan and carburator/breather on the 261. The fan blades had to be bent back into place... It all looks pretty good.
Hopefully today I'll get to install the distributor, coil and spark plugs... wondering now, where the heck I put the coil. headscratch

Jerry

I had my wheels sandblasted about a year ago, they have been under plastic sheeting since, Living in Iowa with the humidity they were covered with surface rust, I got them all clean with my side grinder and a 4" wire wheel, And as soon as weather permits I can get them painted. All thats left are the bed sides wood bed and tail gate, I can't wait till its done. It's been a long process but i've enjoyed every minute. What a great project. Terry

Finally got engine smoothed out after forgetting to adjust valves during replacement of a rocker arm. Still wasn't right. Tracked down loose spark plug wire. Fixed! (note to self: runs best on six cylinders)

Finished fuel tank replacement last weekend. Idling a bit low right now, could use some tuning, maybe a carb kit and she'll be running a like a sewing machine. Posted sound vid on another thread, forgive me for posting here too...I just can't get enough of it.:-D my 216

Pulled Grandpa's home made wood panel off the passenger door and got the door latch mechanism loosened up and functioning again then popped the panel back on.
